August 18 - Logwin, the international logistics service provider, has transported a special 13 tonne tank by barge from Regensburg in Germany to Cernavoda in Romania for manufacturer Passavant Roediger GmbH.

The tank, which travelled 2,100 km via the Danube, was destined for a power station in Cernavoda, where it will be used as an intermediate storage facility for completely desalinated water.

In order to avoid having to transport the entire tank from the production plant to the port in one piece, the supplier assembled it at the point of loading instead.

"Careful preparation and quick reactions to unexpected events are extremely important to execute projects of this type successfully", says Holger Philipowski, manager Transportation Eastern Europe at Logwin's Dietzenbach location. "With our long experience in oversized transportation, we know exactly what matters - especially in the countries of Eastern Europe."
