June 6 - Dutch specialised transport services provider Lubbers Logistics Group intends to acquire the special road transport division of Wagenborg Nedlift, with effect from July 1.

The proposed acquisition is part of Lubbers' strategy to further strengthen its position in the energy market; while Wagenborg Nedlift has decided to divest the business unit in order to focus on its lifting and hoisting, heavy transport, and assembly divisions.

"For both Lubbers Logistics Group as Wagenborg Nedlift the acquisition is a positive step forward," said Wagenborg Nedlift ceo Ton Klijn. "Lubbers can further expand its transport fleet and organisation, while we as Wagenborg Nedlift can focus on our services lifting and hoisting, heavy transport and assembly."

Ger Engelsman, ceo of Lubbers Logistics Group, added: "The additional equipment that we will be acquiring is an excellent addition to our existing truck and trailer fleet, which will allow us to expand our European network.

"Moreover, the experienced employees of Wagenborg Nedlift that will join our organisation will bring along additional expertise."
