July 11 - Coscol (HK) Investment and Development Co. has signed a contract with Guangzhou Shipyard International Co. for the construction of a new 90,000 dwt semi-submersible vessel.

The vessel, which is part of Coscol's long-term plan to increase its semi-submersible fleet, is scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2016.

The newbuild will be 255 m long, with a deck length of 210 m, breadth of 68 m, loaded draft of 10 m and a depth of 14.5 m. The deck can be submerged by 16 m.

The 90,000 dwt vessel will enhance the versatility of Coscol's fleet by providing a transport solution for the very largest offshore structures, said the company.

Coscol (HK) Investment and Development Co. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cosco Shipping Co. (Coscol).
