May 6 - Nordana Line has introduced a new dedicated intra-Mediterranean ro-ro service, adding to the string of ro-ro, multipurpose and container services that the shipping line operates between North and Latin America and the Mediterranean and West Africa

According to Nordana, the new service will cater especially for the demands and requirements of clients transporting rolling stock, breakbulk and project cargoes, as well containers, yachts and heavy or over-dimensional cargoes.

Operated by the Silkeborg, which features a stern ramp of 200 tonnes capacity, the new service will commence operation in May with a first sailing from Istanbul, enabling Nordana to offer three monthly sailings from Spain and Italy into Egypt, Turkey, and Libya.

New ports being offered will include Fos (France), Istanbul (Turkey), Piraeus (Greece), Beirut (Lebanon), Lattakia (Syria), Benghazi (Libya), Sfax (Tunisia), and Skikda (Algeria).

Through the shipping line's two main transshipment hubs, which are located at Tarragona in Spain and Genoa in Italy, connections can be established between all ports in the Mediterranean network, as well as ports in Latin America and the United States.
