July 27 - In the USA, Omni Holdings has announced that its Omni Specialized subsidiary is now in full operation after it acquired the flatbed assets of Tennant Truck Lines.

The newly formed company is now providing general commodity flatbed and over-dimensional, open deck specialised services to customers nationwide.

Colona based Tennant has been in business for more than 70 years, and is known for its transport of over-dimensional construction and agricultural equipment.

The Tennant Truck Lines name and authority will continue to operate as a van carrier under the ownership of Josh Kaburick, principal of E. L. Henderson.

Two industry veterans operate Omni Specialized, including Thomas Witt, as president, and Earl Coleman, who oversees financial management of the company.

Omni Specialized, which is also based Colona, operates terminals in Baltimore and Wichita.

Witt says the purchase of Tennant's flatbed assets "is our first step in establishing a platform from which to grow both organically and through acquisition."
