Robert Owen John Wynn passes away

Robert Owen John Wynn, former director of UK heavy haulage firm Robert Wynn & Sons, passed away on April 10, 2020.

Peter, John and Harry Wynn.

Born into the family business, John took on some of the most challenging transportation jobs during his time with the company, regularly attempting to enter the Guinness Book of Records for the largest loads moved on UK roads. He then cast his eye further afield taking personal charge of contracts he had negotiated in Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, Nigeria and the Sudan.

In his retirement, John chronicled the history of the family business in three books and gave countless talks in the UK documenting his 40 years at the forefront of the country’s heavy haulage industry.

The Robert Wynn & Sons business continues today under the stewardship of his youngest son Peter, fifth generation of the original founder.
