Rhenus Logistics has ordered a 125-tonne lifting capacity Konecranes Gottwald mobile harbour crane for the Rhenus Deep Sea terminal at the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam.

The G HMK 6507 variant of the Model 6 mobile harbour crane will be commissioned in May, with handover scheduled for June 2020. It will handle general, heavy lift and project cargo at the terminal, and will expand its container handling capacity.

Rhenus Logistics managing director Peter van der Steen explained: “Our fourth Konecranes Gottwald crane … gives us a second option for handling up to 125 tonnes of general and heavy project cargo as well as containers. In twin-lift with its sister crane we now can lift up to 187.5 tonnes.

“However, what sets it apart is that the new crane uses a 690V external power supply, which will lower operating costs, while reducing noise and exhaust emissions at the same time.”
