Multipurpose rates edge up

Time charter rates in the multipurpose shipping sector have marginally increased over the last month, according to the latest data from shipbroker Toepfer Transport.

According to Toepfer, the average daily time charter rate for a 12,500 dwt/F-Type heavy lift vessel increased by USD9 over the previous month to reach USD7,508 in November.

This represents an increase of USD927 compared to the rate of USD6,581 at the same time last year.
