Platten named ICS secretary general

The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) has appointed Guy Platten as secretary general.

Platten, the current ceo of the UK Chamber of Shipping, will be taking up the role in mid-2018, succeeding Peter Hinchliffe.

The ICS has also promoted Simon Bennett, currently director policy and external relations, to the role of deputy secretary general.
