Technip picks Jumbo for Leviathan project

Technip has awarded Jumbo a contract for the transportation and installation of a 410-tonne subsea production manifold for the Leviathan development, located off the coast of Israel.

Jumbo’s offshore division will lower the manifold onto the seabed, at a water depth of 1,643 m. In addition to transporting equipment from the US Gulf coast, Jumbo will also install various other subsea isolation valves (SSIV) at water depths of approximately 86 m.

Jumbo will use one of its heavy lift vessels to complete the project in early 2019.

“By using one of our DP-equipped heavy lift construction vessels with its combination of transport and deepwater installation capabilities, we can provide a unique solution for the transportation and installation aspects of this project,” said Brian Boutkan, head of sales and business development Americas, Jumbo Offshore.
