June 4 - Blue Water Shipping has begun the transport of a thruster for a drilling rig from Schiedam, the Netherlands to South Africa - the first in a series of project moves to the country.

The thruster, which has been manufactured by Wärtsilä, will be picked from Schiedam and loaded onto a truck for transport to a nearby quay area, where the unit will be loaded onto a barge.

From there, the barge will be transported to a temporary storage area in Antwerp, before being loaded onboard an ocean-going vessel to Namibia, explained Nikolaj Buurgaard, operations manager of oil, gas and industrial projects at Blue Water Shipping.

Upon arrival at Walvis Bay in Namibia, Blue Water's local logistic coordinators will take over transport of the thruster to South Africa.
