July 29 - Sovereign Logistics has coordinated the delivery of an 841-tonne cement plant from Kenya's Mombasa port to Nairobi.
As well as chartering a vessel to deliver the cargo to Mombasa port, Sovereign Logistics was responsible for handling the ship's discharge at the Kenyan gateway, obtaining Customs clearance and arranging the inland transportation of the plant to Nairobi.
Due to the dimensions of the largest unit of the plant and the Kenya National Highway Authority regulations of axle load limit, the oversize piece required a lowbed trailer for oncarriage to Nairobi, as well as an advance permit and vehicle escort.
Sovereign Logistics is a member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN) in Kenya.
