The Spliethoff Group has established Spliethoff-BigLift UK to expand and develop the commercial representation of both companies in the UK.
Jon Gliddon of Shearwater Shipping & Chartering, along with Andrew Saunders of Invicta Shipping & Chartering, will manage Spliethoff-BigLift UK.
The formation of Spliethoff-BigLift UK follows the retirement of David Becket, founder of Shearwater, which has been representing both Spliethoff and BigLift Shipping in the UK since 2012.
“The formation of Spliethoff-BigLift UK comes at an opportune moment to commence a new commercial venture in the UK,” said the Spliethoff Group, adding that both Gliddon and Saunders have decades of experience in marine transportation particularly for project, heavy lift and breakbulk cargoes.
