March 30 - Portugal's LASO Transportes has strengthened its wind turbine transport fleet with the addition of six Nooteboom super wing carriers (SWC).

As well as the super wing carriers, which are specially designed for the transport of ultra-long rotor blades, LASO also took delivery of a number of extendible four-axle semi low-loaders from Nooteboom.

Paulo Franco, managing director of Malveira-headquartered LASO, explained that the manoeuvrability, flexibility and stability of the Nooteboom super wing carriers were the main reasons for the purchase.

LASO now has over 200 Nooteboom semi-trailers in its fleet.
