July 6 - Jan De Nul Group's offshore jack-up vessel Vole au vent has installed the last blade of the tenth and final wind turbine at the Tahkoluoto offshore wind farm in Finland.

The construction of the wind farm started in April 2016 with seabed preparations for the foundation and cable installation. Works resumed in April 2017 with Jan De Nul's vessel Vole au vent completing the installation of the ten gravity-based foundations in early June.

The Tahkoluoto offshore wind farm was constructed by Siemens, Technip, ABB, Prysmian, and Jan De Nul, which was chosen as the main contractor for marine construction by wind power producer Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy.

According to Jan De Nul, it is the world's first offshore wind farm designed for icy conditions. It features ten 4.2 MW turbines and will be ready for commercial operation in September 2017.
