WW Ocean’s recent stop at the Japanese port of Kanazawa marked its tenth port call for manufacturer Komatsu.

The ro-ro vessel Tugela arrived in Kanazawa to load Komatsu construction machinery that had been manufactured at the nearby Awazu factory. Approximately 450 pieces of equipment, including 20 excavators, were rolled onto the ship in a day and a half.

The machinery, destined for the USA, was positioned on the 229 m-long vessel using 38 roll trailers and 24 bolsters.

“This was a momentous shipment for us and Komatsu,” explained Motonori Sakai, vice president/sales Japan, WW Ocean. Since 2016, WW Ocean has called at the port of Kanazawa ten times and, during that time, loaded approximately 1,000 units of Komatsu equipment.
