September 12 - A 278-tonne generator has been transported in South America using a 12x3 file combination of Tianjie self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs).

The generator, which had the dimensions 11.95 m x 3.97 m x 3.51 m, was shipped into South America on board a BBC Chartering vessel, before being loaded onto SPMTs for transport to a thermal power plant.

The SPMTs had to be driven up a 12 degree inclination. Tianjie explained that it decided to place the power pack unit (PPU) on top of the modular trailers in order to reduce the turning radius. The SPMTs were then driven backwards up the incline to make full use of the driving force.
