January 12 - The latest edition of Heavy Lift & Project Forwarding International (HLPFI) is due to hit readers' desks just as the year's trends for the heavy lift industry are becoming visible, say industry observers.

There are signs that large project activity is slowly increasing worldwide as investments are made in turnkey developments, especially in the energy and mining sectors, as well as continuing project activity in the BRIC countries.

Demand for project shipments including material for manufacturing plants, refineries, mining and offshore drilling, as well as the growing alternative energy production sector, should maintain demand throughout the year, say sources.

However, some observers are worried that high volumes of shipbuilding, especially in Asia, which are due to be launched this year is bringing forward large volumes of capacity that might serve to depress rates and risk mothballing of ships, however new. Other observers suggest, however, that the improving volumes of project cargo and heavy lift movements will successfully utilise this new capacity.

Within the next two weeks, the January/February edition will be delivered to the magazine's worldwide readership.

While readers are enjoying the first-class mix of news and relevant features, HLPFI editorial, sales and production staff have already begun work on the March/April edition. This edition features the usual mix of insightful and relevant articles that readers have come to expect and rely on from HLPFI.

Regional profiles will look at activity in key markets around the world, while country reports are being produced on the USA, Brazil, Russia and India. The specific industry being treated to an Industry Review is the mining and mineral extraction industry worldwide. Road haulage is the subject of the magazine's industry focus while the regular equipment focus is looking at development of jacks, skates and rollers.
