February 14 - Italy's Vernazza Autogru has added two new Grove all-terrain cranes to its fleet, a GMK5250L and a GMK6400.

The 400-tonne capacity GMK6400, is equipped with the MegaDrive hydrostatic drive and self-rigging MegaWingLift attachment. The 250-tonne capacity GMK5250L is equipped with a VIAB turbo clutch, which according to the crane manufacturer offers benefits of wear-free starting and braking as well as reduced fuel consumption, which it claims saves on operating costs.

"We already have several Grove cranes in our fleet, and over time we have seen that they provide a great return on investment, especially when we use them intensely," said Diego Vernazza, ceo and owner of Vernazza.

Both cranes were customised by Manitowoc's Lift Solutions service department. The GMK5250L has been equipped with a front camera for more efficient rigging, while the fixed jib on the GMK6400 has been modified for use with an adapter for its heavy-duty jib, allowing for more configurations. Both cranes have been equipped with a special lighting package to illuminate job sites.

Vernazza Autogru is a provider of cranes, elevating platforms, trucks, trailers and special equipment for lifting and transport. The company is headquartered in Genoa, in the northwest of Italy, and has a fleet of more than 150 technical vehicles.
