November 21 - UECC has loaded seven locomotives onboard its ro-ro vessel, Auto Energy, during a recent call at St. Petersburg.

Each locomotive measured 18.6 m x 3.1 m x 5.1 m and weighed 80 tons (72.6 tonnes).

"This shipment is a very good example of what our E-class dual-fuel LNG vessels can carry on their 6,000 sq m high and heavy decks," said UECC's head of high and heavy, Sven Jansen.

Auto Energy is one of UECC's two new dual-fuel liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessels; it currently operates on UECC's Baltic rotation calling on a weekly basis at: Southampton (UK); Zeebrugge (Belgium); Bremerhaven (Germany); Malmö (Sweden); Hanko (Finland); Gdynia (Poland) and St. Petersburg (Russia).

Auto Energy has a ramp capacity of 160 tons (154.2 tonnes) and is one of the most environmentally friendly ships in shortsea shipping, Jansen claimed.
