April 11 - Out-of-gauge transport specialist Van der Vlist's St Petersburg branch recently received a shipment of dryers from China that required shipping 1,250 km to Efremov, 100 km south of Tula, Russia.
Each dryer measured 14.7 m in length, 5 m wide and 5.5 m tall. The Van der Vlist team dismantled each dryer into three separate pieces weighing 80 tonnes, 30 tonnes and eight tonnes respectively to make the project easier to move on the Russian road network.
The entire consignment took 20 days and 34 trips to arrive at the Efremov jobsite, where the machinery was re-assembled and ready to use.
