December 4 - Russia's Volga-Dnepr is considering the launch of a new Leipzig, Germany-based airline by the end of 2018.

Media reports suggest that three of Volga-Dnepr's AN-124s have been earmarked for the project.

Speaking to HLPFI, Volga-Dnepr said: "Under long-term strategic plans Volga-Dnepr Group contemplates possibilities to open airlines (or branches) in different regions, based on market demands and in compliance with regional and international regulations. Leipzig is considered to be one of the options."

More details about the establishment of a Germany-based airline are expected to be unveiled in the New Year.
