WWPC members on the move

Bolk Transport is currently moving construction machinery from Europe to Tehran, the capital of Iran.

In cooperation with its transportation partners, Bolk is coordinating the delivery of six pieces of equipment, which weigh 30 tonnes each, via land and by ro-ro vessel.

Meanwhile, Express Global Logistics (EXG) has coordinated the delivery of three transformers from Rudraram, Hyderabad to Jharsuguda, Odisha, India.

Each unit measured 7.8 m x 4.8 m x 5.2 m and the consignment had a total volume of 669 freight tons. EXG said that due to the height of the transformers, a number of overhead wires along the route had to be disconnected and removed. EXG also had to liaise with India’s State Highways division to shut down parts of the carriageway and lift overhead signs, in order for the combination to pass along the route.

Elsewhere, Platetrade has transported components for a dam expansion project from Genoa, Italy through Antwerp for onward transportation to Argentina.

The components, which weighed 118 tons (107 tonnes) and measured 13 m in length, will form part of the bi-national dam bordering Argentina and Paraguay.

Bolk Transport, EXG and Platetrade are members of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) representing Austria, India and Argentina respectively.
