Combi Dock in crane carriage

October 22 - Combi Dock Chartering has loaded gantry crane components onboard its heavy lift vessel Combi Dock III in Vlissingen, the Netherlands.

The crane parts, which had a total volume of 31,000 cu m, are destined for the new Bilfinger Mars Offshore production facility in Szczecin, Poland.

Combi Dock chartering manager Kenneth Tedaldi explained that Combi Dock III was ideal for this consignment: "Not only does the vessel have a high cubic capacity under deck, but the 132 m long and unobstructed hold was perfect for the four 95 m supports that formed part of the cargo."

As well as organising the loading operations, Combi Dock's in-house engineering department designed stowage, lifting and lashing plans for the project. The vessel is scheduled to arrive in Szczecin on October 24.
