Huisman has kicked off construction of BMS Heavy Cranes’ 3,000-tonne capacity ring crane at its production facility in the Czech Republic.

BMS-Kick-off construction

BMS ordered the crane at the beginning of this year, as HLPFI reported here. The crane setup has been optimised for operations in the wind energy industry, with the capability to lift components weighing 1,200 tonnes at heights of up to 225 m. It will be able to handle heavy structures up to 3,000 tonnes at a reduced height.

The fully electrically driven crane helps reduce emissions and improves operational accuracy, ensuring its suitability for use in the renewable energy industry, said Huisman.

Delivery of the crane is scheduled for the second half of 2023.
