With a maximum load capacity of 125 tonnes and a radius of 49 m, the cranes will mainly serve container ships up to Panamax class with the ability to handle gearless vessels and general cargo.

The cranes will be the first mobile harbour cranes in Guyana, according to Konecranes, and will increase the port’s capability to receive a wider and larger variety of cargo ships.

“We’re proud that John Fernandes and Muneshwers have chosen Konecranes to provide the first mobile harbour cranes in Guyana. It’s a true milestone in the development of professional cargo handling for both Guyana and Konecranes,” said Andreas Moeller, senior sales manager, Americas, port solutions, Konecranes.

The cranes are expected to arrive in Q2 2023.
