Bolloré Logistics Chile has transported a mobile drilling rig, consisting of five parts, from Argentina through Chile onwards to China and then Mongolia.
The 650 cu m shipment weighed 118 tonnes in total, the dimensions and weight presenting challenges for the team, Bolloré explained. It required close coordination and collaboration between the company’s offices in Argentina, Chile, Canada and China.
The units were mounted onto specialised trailers, which enabled them to be transported through Chile by road. The machine was then shipped from Lirquen to Qingdao, before being hauled by four trucks to its final destination in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
