Krebs Korrosionsschutz has moved five MAN diesel engines from a warehouse at the Cuxport deepwater terminal in Germany to the edge of the pier for using equipment from Faymonville.

Each engine weighed 325 tonnes. The Krebs specialists assembled a self-propelled heavy-duty platform trailer in a 12-axle variant with a 372 kW power pack for the work.

Precision handling was required when exiting the warehouse’s doorway, with the height of the combination measuring 8.07 m and the clearance height of the door measuring 8.10 m. With the electronic steering of the ModulMAX configuration, the manoeuvre was executed within the millimetre precision.

Once at the end of the pier, a pontoon crane was waiting to lift the engines onboard a vessel for the onward transport.
