For the first part of the move, the Enerpac gantry lifted the 46-tonne, 2.2 m-wide and 2.7 m-high lathe beam and moved it to the truck’s loading point. While keeping the lathe suspended above the slide rails, the rails were separated, allowing the flatbed truck to back into the free space under the lathe. It was subsequently lowered onto the flatbed.

The process was repeated for the lathe’s turntable, weighing 41 tonnes, with a diameter of 5.9 m and a height of 0.7 m.

Having previously installed the lathe, Mediaco was well aware of the factory’s space limitations. The compact Enerpac gantry system delivered the required lifting capacity while operating effectively within the confined area.
