Sarens installs Proton Therapy System Por-Beam 360 in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.

Sarens was asked by its client Mabatex Group to install the Varian ProBeam 360 multiroom system for Siemens Healthcare at the National Research Oncology Center (NROC) at Kerey and Zhanibek Khans St 3 in Kazakhstan Capital city Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.

The multi-room version will be an expandable version of the single room ProBeam 360 solution. Treatments can be delivered with an unmatched combination of speed, flexibility, and cost efficiency. This cutting-edge proton therapy technology promises to revolutionize cancer treatment in the region.

The project involved assembling more than 200 sub-assembling parts and four units of heavy lift equipment. Sarens offloaded, stored, organsied, and assembled the parts. All the parts had to be lifted inside the building making them blind lifts. The team made multiple site visits and planned the project precisely. The equipment selected were:

  • 80-tonne mobile crane
  • 7-tonne forklift
  • 500-tonne mobile crane

According to Sarens’ project manager: “We were working in a fully constructed hospital and had to make sure that all heavy lifting operations were carefully executed to ensure that the floors and wall paints are not damaged.” All the components were safely lifted and installed in the estimated duration and the client was satisfied with Sarens team.
