November 8 - Kenya-based Astral Aviation has signed a long-term aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance (ACMI) agreement with Air Atlanta Icelandic, adding a factory-built Boeing 747-400 freighter to its fleet.

Network Airline Management (NAM), acting as general sales and services agent for Astral, says this will enable it to develop its presence in Africa.

While the group expects the additional capacity to strengthen its presence in the Kenyan perishables market, NAM says the nose-loader B747F will also enable it to attract oversized oil, gas and mining equipment for west and east Africa.
