July 15 - USA based crane supplier Bay Crane hosted almost 1,500 people at the opening of its new Smithfield, Rhode Island facility.

The 250,000 sq ft (23,226 sq m) unit will support Bay Crane's terminals in Boston, Massachusetts and North Haven, Connecticut.
 
Bay Crane used the event to display its range of all terrain, rough terrain (RT) and crawler cranes, which included the complete Tadano RT line from 15-100 tonnes lifting capacity, its 600-tonne capacity all terrain cranes and a 330-tonne Liebherr LR 1300 crawler crane.
 
Also on show was a range of rigging gear including a 550 tonne hydraulic gantry, a 36 tonne rigging forklift, a 175 tonne load transfer triangle, 150 tonne capacity rolling blocks, spreader beams up to 350 tonne capacity and an assortment of wire rope slings and shackles.
 
Heavy haul trailers were also exhibited including a 166-tonne capacity, 54.9 m long 19-axle trailer and a 300-tonne Goldhofer SPMT.
 
Branch manager Josh Wilbur remarked: "The large turnout of customers, employees, and suppliers was as overwhelming success.  
 
"The most experienced of our suppliers and customers all considered this a fun and productive day and learned a tremendous amount about our product line and unique rigging tackle inventory."
