Freeport finds new chief

April 11 - After several months of searching, Phyllis Saathoff has been appointed executive port director and ceo of Port Freeport.

Saathoff joins Freeport with over 20 years of experience in the port industry, beginning her career at Port Freeport in 1992 and holding various managerial positions. She joined the Port of Houston Authority in 2012 and has now returned to Freeport.

reported in November 2015 that, after 40 years in the industry, Glenn Carlson had decided to retire as ceo of Port Freeport, with effect from March 15, 2016.
