Logistics provider and cargo terminal based at the UK’s Portsmouth International port, Portico, has restructured its business and officially launched three new companies – Portico Shipping, Portico Logistics and Portico Port Services.
The logistics provider and cargo terminal based at Portsmouth International port said the restructuring was carried out following a thorough internal review, in consultation with a working group of employees.
Portico Shipping will serve customers across sea-based cargo, short-sea, layover, project cargo, and heavy lift; Portico Logistics will provide overland transport, and freight forwarding in the UK, Europe, and the rest of the world; and Portico Port Services will cover the cruise and ferry industries.
“Through our plan for diversification, to increase our potential for growth, we identified the need for three new companies, each of which we wanted to give its own identity and leadership,” said Portico managing director Steve Williams. “This will allow us to better serve our existing customers and increase our capacity for new business.”
Last month, Portico Shipping secured funding from the Solent Freeport’s seed capital fund to grow its operations.
