Liebherr delivers two to Onitsha River Port

September 7 - Major investment in the ports on the Niger River in Nigeria to allow discharge and loading of heavy lift and breakbulk items has resulted in the acquisition of two Liebherr Harbour Mobile Cranes type LHM 180, allowing the handling of project

These machines have a maximum outreach of 35 m.

A programme of dredging and port refurbishment has led to the Onitsha River Port being refurbished and upgraded during the last year, adding warehousing, port accommodation, storage space and Liebherr cranes.

The cranes will be used to handle a wide variety of breakbulk cargoes, including iron billets for the steel mills, building and construction materials.
