Tinsley named at BIMCO

June 30 - BIMCO has appointed Philip Tinsley as head of maritime security.

Tinsley, who joined the association in 2015, spent 31 years with the Royal Marine Commandos, a specialist unit of the British Royal Navy before working at a global risk consultancy, managing offshore security in the Indian Ocean.

According to BIMCO, Tinsley will lead the organisation's work on maritime security, assisting its members on various issues, including piracy, drug smuggling, stowaways, mixed mass migration and cyber security.
