WWL extends the reach of Orcelle grants

January 10 - Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) is partnering with Savannah Ocean Exchange as worldwide sponsor to extend the reach of Orcelle grants, giving support to clean-tech entrepreneurs aiming at making shipping and logistics more sustainable.

This focus reflects WWL's own research and development into the E/S Orcelle, a zero-emissions concept vessel. "The Savannah Ocean Exchange "Leap for Zero+" theme is a fit with the global zero emission ambition WWL has, says the company.

For the 2012 WWL Orcelle grant, an international "Call for Solutions" will be issued in the first quarter of 2012 seeking "proactive, innovative, scalable and economically productive solutions" that accelerate the timeline of reaching ZERO+.

"We are thrilled Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics has become a worldwide sponsor of the Savannah Ocean Exchange and is partnering with us to source economically sustainable solutions to compete for the WWLOrcelle Award 2012," says Cort Atkinson, co-founder and CEO of the Savannah Ocean Exchange.
