Kuehne + Nagel on the transformer trail

Kuehne + Nagel (K+N) is coordinating the delivery of 11 transformers for various National Grid substations around the UK.

All transformers are being shipped from Busan, South Korea and delivered to 11 difference project sites. Since the beginning of the year, K+N has completed four of these shipments.

For the Bishops Wood substation, K+N was responsible for the delivery of a 240 MVA weighing 178 tonnes. Ten containers were also delivered to the site.

Similar shipments have been delivered to National Grid’s Cellarhead, Tilbury and Eaton Socon sites.

K+N’s scope of work includes shipping, transportation to site and installation on behalf of its client Posco International.

In addition, K+N has been awarded another contract for the delivery of two Hyosung transformers in 2020. The forwarder also has a pending contract for the delivery of another 40 transformers over the next three years.
