AAL brings the cyclones to Malaysia

June 5 - AAL has transported two cyclone vessels to Petronas' USD27 billion refinery and petrochemical integrated development (RAPID) project in Malaysia, on behalf of freight forwarder Oceansmart Global.

The two cyclone vessels, each measuring 22 m x 11 m x 10 m and weighing over 500 tonnes, were loaded onto the AAL Fremantle, one of AAL's 19,000 dwt S-Class heavy lift vessels, in Mailiao, Taiwan. The cargoes were loaded using the vessel's combined 700-tonne capacity cranes, and were stowed in one of the vessel's three box shaped holds and weather deck respectively.

The units were discharged in Tanjung Setapa, ahead of their installation at Petronas' RAPID project site in Pengerang, Southern Johor, Malaysia.
