February 2 - Advance International Transport has completed an important contract to support the construction of a new glass-making complex in Syria.

The contract included the specialised transport of out of gauge (OOG) cargoes for the Adra First Glass plant, 35km north of Damascus, a subsidiary of the Iranian Kaveh Glass Industry Group.

Jawad Kamel, president and CEO of Advance International Transport: "This was a significant contract and one that we were proud to have completed successfully. In total, we transported 308 containers of all types and sizes, including flat beds with OOG cargo and 40ft boxes, to Adra First Glass, containing equipment and machinery for this new manufacturing complex."

Kamel claims that, "in executing this contract we were able to set records for the quick turnaround of containers from origins in Europe and Asia taken to Adra through Lattakia, Syria's busiest and most modern seaport. We returned empty containers from the jobsite within the shortest possible time ever recorded for this volume of containers in Syria."
