December 16 - Adam Asnyk, the first of six new, multipurpose, heavy lift ships which have been ordered by Chipolbrok from the COSCO Dalian Shipyard has entered into service

Adam Asnyk is 30,332 dwt, equipped with heavy lift cranes with a combined lifting capacity of 640 tonnes and has a service speed of 19.2 knots.

The ship, along with the other five vessels, will be employed within Chipolbrok's round-the-world service between some of Europe#s main ports (Hamburg, Antwerp, Bilbao Venice), ports in China (Shanghai, Xingang, Dalian), and other major ports of Far East, returning to Europe via ports in the USA.

The maiden voyage saw her calling at Chinese and South Korean ports to load heavy units and other huge industrial project cargoes destined for ports on the US Gulf and Northern Europe.

Delivery of the next vessel - Chipolbrok Star - " is expected within the first quarter of 2010, and the whole current newbuilding programme will be completed by the end of 2011
