April 22 - Jacksonville, Florida-based Crowley played a behind-the-scenes role in assuring various heads of states had safe transport during the recent Summit of the Americas event held in Trinidad and Tobago.

The company transported two Interceptor vessels or 'Safe Boats' to Trinidad for US Customs and Border Protection to be used to ensure the security of visiting dignitaries and heads of states.

"On behalf of US Customs and Border Protection, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for a job well done in co-ordinating and assisting the CBP, and the Trinidad and Tobago Customs and Excise Division's shipment of two Safe Boats. At the summit it was critical that the two Interceptor vessels arrived in Trinidad as scheduled to support the security of the visiting heads of states and citizens of Trinidad and Tobago," says Karl Brown, chief of party for the CBP in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Summit of the Americas brought together the heads of state and government representatives from the Western Hemisphere to discuss common issues, to seek solutions and develop a shared vision for the future development of the region.
