July 6 - Delta Maritime, member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for Greece, managed two significant heavy cargo movements during the busy holiday season in Greece, writes Isabel Freedman.

The first heavy and out-of-gauge (OOG) equipment was headed for the Chania military airport on the island of Crete.

The machine with the dimensions 17.5 x 3.4 x 3.3 m and weighing 65 tonnes was transported out of Piraeus, Greece to the Chania airport by road, sea and again by road.

15 oversized generators and accessories, manufactured by Milantractor, were then demobilised at a power plant and transported from Alonissos Island, Greece to Tribiano, Italy. The move had to be executed quickly in order to overcome congestion in Greek ports caused by the current summer holidays.
