Express Global Logistics (EXG) has successfully transported critical airport infrastructure components with a total weight of 235.9 tonnes in Western India.
EXG handled every aspect of the logistics chain, including Customs clearance, port handling and transportation. The passenger boarding bridges (PBB) were shipped as 40 large components with a combined weight of 235.9 tonnes, including oversized components measuring up to 21.16 m x 3.68 m x 4.2 m.
The company’s operations team deployed eight-axle hydraulic trailers specifically designed for super-heavy cargo, assisted by two lowbed trailers for optimal load distribution.
EXG’s engineering team used both hydraulic suspension systems to minimise road vibrations as well as heavy-duty cranes with precision controls for loading operations, in order to prevent damage to delicate glass components that were integrated within the boarding bridge structures. With the cargo being fragile, rigorous route planning and securing methods were key, as well as ensuring that minimal Z-axis movement happened to avoid jerking of the components during transit.
Last month, HLPFI reported that EXG had transported 33 pipe rack modules at an industrial facility in India.
EXG is member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) in India.
