Aberdeen-headquartered North Star Renewables has appointed Andrew Duncan to the permanent role of renewables director, having worked with company in an advisory capacity since 2019.

He has been tasked with leading the UK firm’s expansion in the offshore wind energy sector and increasing its foothold in other green offshore energy industries.

North Star said Duncan was instrumental in helping the business secure its first offshore wind contract, the recently announced GBP270 million (USD380 million) award with Dogger Bank project to deliver three service offshore vessels (SOVs) for three ten-year charters.

Reporting directly to ceo Matthew Gordon, Duncan will work closely with the firm’s renewables division across its three locations in Aberdeen, Newcastle and Lowestoft. He will be based at the company’s port of Tyne facility.
