CSP Iberian Bilbao Terminal has opened its renewed and expanded railway terminal.

With the aim of consolidating its intermodal transport services, the Spanish port operator has, over the last two years, invested in projects that improved the facility’s infrastructure, surface area and machinery.

The storage area has been increased to 41,800 sq m, while four tracks of the terminal were extended to 550 m. Next to the tracks, the port installed a stacking area with a capacity of 3,000 teu.

CSP Iberian also purchased two automatic rubber-mounted gantry cranes with a lifting capacity of 45 tonnes and reach stackers.

The investments are part of the company’s 2036 strategy that will see improvement projects amounting to approximately EUR34 million (USD38.3 million).
