June 15 - Liebherr Group recorded a turnover of EUR9.2 billion (USD10.3 billion) in 2015, a 4.7 percent year-on-year increase.

Liebherr noted that its business developed quite differently in its various sales regions, with an increase in turnover in Western Europe; positive developments in Germany, the UK and the Netherlands; but a drop in sales revenue in France.

Turnover volume also increased in America and the Far East/Australia region, while the manufacturer had a "satisfactory" year in the Middle East market. The company recorded a downturn in Eastern Europe and certain African markets.

Liebherr recorded a 6.2 percent year-on-year increase in turnover for its construction machinery and mining equipment, and also achieved growth in its maritime cranes sector. The company did not elaborate on its offshore or ship crane business.

The company noted that it expects global economic development in 2016 to be similar to last year, with approximately the same rate of growth in industrial countries and emerging markets.

In light of this, Liebherr expects turnover in 2016 to be at the previous year's level.
