July 16 - Panprojects, a wholly-owned Panalpina subsidiary, has appointed Chris Kent as its new global head.

He succeeds Heinz Zech who has left the group to pursue new professional challenges. Kent assumes his position effective immediately.

He joined Panalpina in 2002 and has successfully managed Panprojects UK as divisional director. In this role he was a member of the Global Panprojects management and steering committee.

Before joining Panalpina in 2002, he held several high-ranking management positions, among them in the UK, Middle East and the US. He has travelled extensively on project related assignments and thus has in-depth expertise of the needs and high demands of project customers.

Panalpina group CEO Monika Ribar says: "I am pleased that we could recruit internally for this key position, proving the strength of the Panalpina workforce. Although we are already among the market leaders in the global project business, we still see a lot of potential for profitable growth in this sector and will therefore continue to invest in Panprojects' vigour and know-how."
