Tobias Schmidt has succeeded Thomas George as ceo of DHL Global Forwarding Europe. George, who managed the European organisation since 2016, will focus on his role as chief commercial officer.
Schmidt will report to Tim Scharwath, ceo of DHL Global Forwarding, Freight. He has more than 25 years of experience in the logistics industry and joined the group in April 2019 as ceo of DHL Global Forwarding Germany.
He went on to also head up DHL Global Forwarding Switzerland, where he enhanced the market position in both markets by leveraging the collaboration and synergies between the two countries.
