Régie du Terminal à Conteneurs (RTC) – terminal operator at the port of Douala in Cameroon – has ordered two eco-efficient Konecranes Gottwald Model 6 mobile harbour cranes.

With a maximum radius of 51 m, the G HMK 6507 variant can service container vessels up to the post-Panamax class. A full range of smart crane features combined with a maximum lifting capacity of 125 tonnes offers high flexibility for cargo handling, including general and heavy project cargo, according to Konecranes.

RTC said that it is anticipating an increase in the volume of cargo to pass through the port. Faustin Dingana, managing director of RTC Douala, said: “Our two new Konecranes Gottwald mobile harbour cranes will help us continue to meet increasing customer demand well into the future.”

The order was booked in the first quarter of 2021, with the cranes slated for delivery in August 2021.
